Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry is a group of people dedicated to communicating with God and ministering to peopleprayer-conversation w God through prayer.  People from the prayer ministry lift up our congregation’s prayer needs each week, and they are eager to intercede for and pray with anyone who feels a need for prayer.

Do you have a need for which you’d like others to be praying?  Or do you know of someone currently in need of prayer?  If so, please contact Debra Youngblood at office@lafumc.org or 662-6277, and the request will be added to our church’s prayer list.

If you are open to a member of our prayer ministry contacting you and praying with you over the phone, please include your phone number and a convenient time to call.  You will then be contacted by a member of our prayer ministry.

kneeling prayerPhilippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Our goal for prayer is to deepen our relationships with God – not to simply send up requests and expect God to give us everything we want.  We worship an able and all-knowing God who deeply cares about what is on our hearts.  Through prayer, we seek to commune with God and respond to the Holy Spirit’s leading, and in doing this, we have the hope of finding peace in the midst of our situations and greater intimacy with a God who brings hope into all circumstances.
